RIP FRED ABRAM #1033

Posted on 6 Comments

Hi all,
I received the following messages regarding Fred Abram:

Ernie,
Thanks for choosing such a nice photo of Fred. He passed on Monday evening (9/19/22), at the age of 88, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He had requested no services or funeral. He requested cremation and scattering of ashes at sea off the Monterey Bay. I am working on those arrangements now in honor of his request. He held great pride in his 35 year career, working with the fine and dedicated members of the San Jose Police Department. He made many lifelong friends from the Department.

Feel free to update and send out the details or just utilize this email. If anyone whom I have not already contacted wishes to attend his scattering at sea, they may call or email me to receive a copy of the Monterey Bay Boat Charters confirming email.. My contact info is listed below. The Captain’s boat is scheduled to board on 10/19/22 @ 4:00 pm for an hour’s trip at sea.

Thank you,

Connie Abram (Wife and SJPD Retiree)

My deepest sympathy to SJPD. It is sad when we lose a family member in law enforcement.

  1. Truly one of the deeply dedicated Department members! A legend of service across the years.
May he rest in eternal peace, and his memory be eternal.

  2. One of my very fond memories of Fred was when he had both shoulder s rebuilt at the same time and was in high casts. I asked how he was doing and he replied that he was quick to find out who his real friends were!

  3. Such a wonderful man. Fred is the one who hired me at SJPD. RIP Chief Abram. Condolences to you and your family, Connie.

  4. Wonderful, remarkable man. Fred and I butted heads on occasion and remained friends. The world is a lesser place today.
